Lamp Post FAQs
Our lamp posts come with a universal 3 inch collar to allow the installation of any compatible light fixture which you can purchase separately at your local hardware store.
Vita recommends that you install our vinyl lamp post over a 4x4 pressure treated wood post. We understand that this isn't always an option especially if you have an existing round metal lamp post already in place.
In order to make your Vita lamp post secure, you will need create a 90 degree angle on your existing metal post in order to attach the outer vinyl lamp post sleeve from your Vita kit in place with screws. Consider using pressure treated wood or a similar material to create a frame around the base and/or top of the post that you can use to secure the vinyl post sleeve to.
Yes, our design allows room for you to run your existing electrical cord in between the vinyl sleeve and the underlying pressure treated wood post.
Vita carries one model of lamp post that comes with a unique EZ Mount installation system allowing you to install our lamp post without the additional pressure treated wood usually required for installation. You simply install the EZ Mount into the ground and add the lamp post over top. The EZ Mount method is only compatible with the EZ Mount Lamp Post model sold exclusively in the US.
